Mission

In the Romanian language the word “Lumina” means light. There are many parts to the mission but in its foundation it is to bring healing to the broken. To be the light of Jesus Christ in the profession of massage and esthetics and to provide relief and support for pregnant women and young mothers. The mission began in 2014 and is carried out by one flawed and imperfect person and service provider.

I want to show the world that clinical bodywork can be gentle yet effective with the results you need. I thrive in creating a tranquil space for busy minds and busier bodies to slow down, feel seen and nurtured. You should feel inspired to love and respect your body. I want to introduce massage to children in a safe and professional setting and as a healthy coping habit for lifelong wellness. I aspire to break a stereotype and introduce a new style of neuromuscular massage that can be intuitive and compassionate. Lastly, and once more a crucial part of the mission is promote the needs, well-being and support of pregnant, postpartum women (1-3 years post-birth) and mothers of young children in health and self-care. This demographic needs verbal and physical support worldwide.

Location-Your treatment will take place in a private office within a professional building in Boone, North Carolina. The vibe is warm, intimate and sessions are personalized. This is an independent and therapist-owned business, if you value supporting small business in the community, this may be the place for you:)

I work to help people find balance by approaching their health goals holistically, and creating a calm, caring and nurturing experience. My work is also available for fertility, menopause, tired dads and their extended family.

All are welcome!

Meet Michelle

It was a warm September day in 1997 when I graduated from the Florida College of Natural Health, Miami Campus. I began working into the world of massage at the tender age of nineteen. Over two decades later I can gratefully say that my belief in massage/manual therapy as a clinical treatment for muscle pain is stronger than ever. My two specialties in massage are Neuromuscular and Prenatal. I love human anatomy and truly enjoy seeing the relief that people discover through natural methods of healing.

My first certification in NMT (Neuromuscular Massage Therapy) began in the year 2000 when I was trained at Center Pointe Education by two Physical Therapists. I was introduced to trigger points, myofascial release and all the ways rehabilitative massage can help people with serious muscle, fascia and soft tissue pain. In 2005 I attained my first certification prenatal massage and felt a calling to serve women during pregnancy and in pain. I’m also a graduate of the James Waslaski seminars in Orthopedic Massage Therapy.

I’ve been blessed to work in reputable five-star resorts on the lovely shores of Miami Beach and rub elbows, share ideas and a few laughs with the nation’s top massage therapists. I’ve also worked in the state of Florida’s teaching and respected Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida within the Physical Therapy Department and excellent workplace settings. These opportunities pushed me to be a true student of the human body and bring my best clinical massage work everyday.

In 2012 I attained my training at Steiner Education in Miami, Florida and a two state licensure as an esthetician in North Carolina and Florida. My experience has been in the luxury spa world working with lines such as Environ and Luzern. Today, I help others care for their skin with clean ingredients and boosting body positivity.

I’ve curated a network of local physicians and ethical health care providers for trusted referrals.

Below is a list of the award-winning healthcare companies ,luxury spa and some leading hotels of the world that I have had the pleasure to work with, have been recruited by or free-lanced in. I am proud to be associated with each one and showcase them to assure you that you’re receiving the same level of expertise as if you were visiting one of these amazing facilities.

  • I felt comfortable and everything was explained. I didn't come in because of a specific injury, but because of soreness in my shoulders/back.  It was sorted it out and I felt less tension in that area after the session.
